Lennie Gail Mitcham
Lennie Gail Mitcham is the Executive Director for The Southwest Virginia Alliance for Manufacturing, Inc. (SVAM). Since 2013, Lennie Gail has worked to fulfill the mission of SVAM by working with manufacturers to promote the sustainment and advancement of manufacturing in southwest Virginia. Along with working with manufacturers directly, Lennie Gail also engages in regional opportunities to improve the perception of manufacturing in southwest Virginia.
Lennie Gail Mitcham is a veteran of the United States Army National Guard. In 2009 Lennie Gail was deployed for a one year tour of duty in support of both Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi freedom. Lennie Gail served 10 years in the military.
Lennie Gail Mitcham has a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Business Administration from the University of Virginia’s College at Wise. Lennie Gail has a Master’s of Arts Degree in Community and Organizational Leadership from Emory and Henry College.
Shauna Gillespie, born and raised in Southwest Virginia, received her Associate’s of Art Degree with a major in Education from Virginia Highlands Community College in 2013 and received her Bachelor’s of Art Degree with a double major in Political Science and History from Emory & Henry College.
Shauna has worked with nonprofit organizations and founded the charitable organization A Reason to Play in 2013 which organizes charity basketball and volleyball games in order to raise money and awareness for important causes. She currently serves on the board of directors for Appalachian Community Fund, a nonprofit organization working to overcome the underlying causes of poverty and injustice in Central Appalachia.
